Jordyne has 2 days left of her amoxcicillin and the bump is still there, evidently there was a smaller one on the other side because when i took her back to the dr he said that one went down and the other one is going down, but its still very noticable and im not sure if it will go down in the next 2 days or something, he said it should be gone by next week and if it isnt to bring her back to get a referal to a pediatrician, so im really really hoping that it goes away because i realy dont know what else it could be . I would have thought by now it would be gone. But he said it looked like swollen lymphnode, so he wsnt really like for sure thats what it is but im hoping thats all it is becuase if i have to get a referral they are gonna stick a needle in it to do a biopsy! And that will be at the hospital and thats just scary and I dont wanna have to deal with that. gah i just grr i want it to go away Sad. I hate having to worry about it, i look at it everyday hoping it wont be there and it still is.

What bump,,,,you probably already explained everything. Where is the thread that discusses this so I can get caught up? Thanks. I'll respond to this as soon as I read more about the bumps, etc.

Jordynne's got a lump in her groin, where her thigh connects to her torso. AKA where lymph nodes can be found. The doc put her on amoxicillin in case it was an infection because it was very sensitive to the touch, but the antibiotics aren't working, pointing to a swollen lymph node.

I'm sorry Diane. I hope it goes down soon. I'd be going nuts too.

Have you ruled out things like this?

Inguinal Hernia in Children

GENERAL INFORMATION:

What is an inguinal hernia? A hernia (HER-nee-ah) is when tissue or part of an organ bulges out of its normal place in the body. An inguinal (ING-gwih-nal) hernia, or "groin" hernia, is when something from the abdomen (belly) slips out of place. It is often a loop of intestine (bowel) that falls out of place and makes the hernia. Sometimes the hernia contains part of another organ, or other tissue from the abdomen (such as fat). Inguinal hernias happen most often in boys, but girls can have them also.

The dr prob will if it doesnt go away, i mean he is a general practitioner he only knows soo much, he just said it looks like a swollen lymphnode i prob coulda made the same guess as him lol . but if it is still there next week then he is gonna refer me to a peditrician since they would know more then him and do a biopsy and whatever else they would need to do for it. so far it doesnt look like it has changed at all other then going down the lil bit when she first s,tarted the meds. maybe amoxicillin just is crappy medicine I dunno, josephs only ever taken omnicef and this is jordynnes first time taking antibiotics.
