it's a little early, but what are you easter plans? are you making up baskets for your kids? i liked when people were sharing what they were putting in their kids' christmas stockings, so i'd love to hear what you're doing for easter.

finn's not going to have a clue what's going on, but i can't resist making him a basket. i've been stashing little things away at work for the past few weeks. i don't really like the idea of giving my kids big baskets of candy, so their baskets will mostly be little toys.

this year he's getting bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a little shaker that looks like a painted easter egg, 2 finger puppets (a bunny and a pig), and a small chocolate bunny. i'm sure we'll be getting some more easter related things at work so i may add one or two things.

i can't wait until he's old enough to do an egg hunt!

I haven't even thought about Easter. We usually go to my aunts but since my Grandpa died last year I have no idea what will happen.

Honestly, with all that is going on it will be shocking if we even have a nice dinner.

Alyvia already has a few plastic easter eggs. Sometimes we open them and stick a few mini M&Ms in there. She gets so excited when she hears them rattle!

I definitely want to get Kaylee's picture taken with the Easter Bunny. She's too young for candy, so I'll probably just put some stuffed animals and toys in her basket.

We'll probably have a brunch and dinner to go to also. Food all day!

I always fill the backyard with filled plastic Easter eggs. This is a long-standing tradition. A sea of colorful plastic eggs with surprises in them!

Also a little basket with some dorky toys and a stuffed animal in it.

For family dinner, I bring green bean casserole (with a few differences) and sweet potato pie.

i forgot about pictures with the easter bunny! i wonder if they're as expensive as santa pics... if so, we won't be getting any.

we'll go to dinner at my parents' house. they'll have a big basket of candy for us big kids! i don't think i'll bring anything this time. we brought green bean casserole and a baked sweet potato dish to thanksgiving and nick and i were the only ones who had any.

Other then that imr eally not sure if we will do anything special.

I loe making Easter baskets. Last year Macy n Liams baskets were huge! they were overflowing with random toys, I agree with not having a bunch of candy. I like to get each of them an Easter book with one of their favorite characters and a bunny(normally small). They also each got a pair of pjs. Last year we were in IL and my friend and I hid plastic eggs in the basement cuz it was snowing outside. We put quarters in them and a few with some dollars. This year we have my family and my granny always dyes eggs and then hids plastic ones with big bills in them Smile and then the traditional dinner of ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mac n cheese etc.

I plan on getting Ava a nice basket that she can use for years. If not, I'll paint her name over my name and just use that one. I've used it since I was a baby.
I plan on putting little easter toys in it. I'm also buying her a little summer outfit or a bathing suit. No candy. She hasn't been introduced to that demon yet.
Maybe she'll get some cookies that she likes. We don't buy that often, so she'll love it.
On Easter, we usually go to family for lunch and dinner. Jesse's working, so we're on our own.
I think if I put eggs in the yard, Ava will pick them up. We'll try it and see what happens.

Of course we'll go to church and have a nice dinner. It'll probably be at my house this year (if anyone even wants to do it) now that my mum's gone.

I'll probably have an Easter egg hunt since Chu can follow simple commands and likes to look for things I've lost. And since I'm trying to keep him away from candy (since I'm the only one in my family who sees the danger in excessive sugar consumption), I'll probably make him a basket of cheesy little toys and Easter books. We'll definitely dye eggs since Chu's favorite thing to do right now is draw. It will be extremely refreshing to have his scribbles on an egg and not on my walls. Laughing

Oh man I haven't even though about Easter yet besides getting pictures done. I like the ideas you guys have of putting little toys in the basket instead of all candy! If it's nice enough out by then, I think I'm going to put little plastic eggs all around the yard & have Kaylee find them. She loves picking things up & putting them in a bucket or box so I think she'll have fun with that.

easter is so early this year (march 23) that there will probably still be snow here, so no egg hunt for us. plus, finn is so distracted outside i don't think he'd get past a little pebble or a leaf.

i bet my parents will hide eggs in their backyard next year when finn and my niece are old enough to both participate. that will be fun!

michelle, do you have a driveway? i bet kaylee would love some chalk!

Hide eggs around the house! Well, don't like really HIDE them. You'll have to put them out in the open so he'll find them easily. He'll love it, B.
