Obsessed over a movie!
Posted: 02-21-08 09:00am

Are any of your lil ones overly obsessed with a movie? The other day joseph saw the aristocats movie at the store and i bought it and well ive watched it over and over again since then. One time i beleive to have watched it at least 10 times in one day, today im going on 4 times i think ive lost count and im about to know this movie word for word! He likes the kitty kittys! Hes standing there leaning on the coffee table watching it now. I dont think i have ever been that obsessed with amovie to watch it over and over and over again lol.

aww thats sdorable, my brother use to be like that with "babys day out"

just be careful how many times he watches it in a row and how close he is, he could get a headache and that is SO not fun...also be careful about his bed time, i know (even with me) watching tv too close to bed time will make me stay up to late dont know why but tv is just evil like that lol

yeah i know, suprisingly he isnt close at all to the tv lol he gets comfy on the couch lol. Usually when jasons home it gets shut off because jason watches the tv then joseph forgets about the movie. He was trying to watch it and eat lunch at the same time today lol. Usually after dinner is bath and all that fun stuff and i hang out with the kids upstairs until bed time. Hes crackin up at the movie lol then when he sees the cat fall in the water hes like kitty kitty in the wawer lol its soo cute.

yeah well i think hes grown out of his terrible 2's finally, he used to be crazy. He just recently got into watching movies or tv shows at all. I hate not having a routine lol like if we are out and about all day and get home late then i feel lost and confused and it makes for a late night. Joseph always knows bath time well and bed time, he always points at him self and says take baf? He always says he has to pee when i tell him it is time for bed andwhen i let him go he just goes in the bathroom and plays so i tell him come on time for bed and hes like nooooooo go pee pee!
OMG i cant stand the alley cat singing. " im thomas omally, omally the ally cat!" haha jason will be sitting there singing that song too its drivng me crazy.
hehe sometimes he will try and make popcorn to have with his movie but he sticks the popcorn in there still wrapped up and turns the microwave on, he did that witha box of macaroni too and ramen lol , he gets the general idea. But he always curls up on the couch and gets his spongebob blanket and covers himself up

haha omg that would be sooo heartbreaking for them. Im tempted to break jasons game but then i realize he doesnt need the CD to play it on the computer......
Joseph flipped out cuz he saw aristocats at the store and i had already bought it a week before so i put it back on the shelf and said we have it already at home and he freaked out he let out this loud shriek lol and everyone turned around but then he got quiet. It was just one super loud shriek.

nope, chu doesn't have a movie that he watches but he's discovered that idiotic tv show yo gabba gabba. i hate that show but he watches the same episode that's on on demand a million times. he screams when it goes off so i either have to distract him with something else or restart it. i hate letting him watch tv but i seriously need the half hour sometimes.

Alyvia isn't even aware that the TV exists until music comes on. I'm already building up her Disney movie collection though!

We're building up a Disney movie collection too, I want to get all the ones that I watched when I was little.. Lady & the Tramp.. All Dogs Go To Heaven..

B, it drives me insane but that's about the only time I get a little time to myself during the day is if I turn that movie on. We bought Daddy DayCAMP just so it was something new but she doesn't want anything to do with it. We don't have the satellite hooked up yet so we're constantly buying movies, we got her a Wonderpets DVD & The Backyardigans but she's not even the slightest bit interested on them. She wants to see REAL kids I guess.

We have loads of kids dvds/videos, mostly from my parents house, ones we watched as kids, its cool now he can watch the same ones we did. One of my sisters still watches the kids films so we swap them with her, plus she gets them out to rent from the local library *free*.

The latest one ive introduced him to is "Matilda" Smile Only thing is hes occasionally repeating some of the rude things Miss Trunchple (sp) says to the kids like "squirming worm of vomit" etc...and he says that thing her dad says "im right you're wrong, im big you're small, and theres nothing you can do about it". Its good at his age we can watch films that are enjoyable to us both, not the baby ones that make you want to throw the tv out lol

I need to look through oru collection to see what we have and dont have, i still wanna buy the cars movie too. we rented it and he liked it but i wanna buy it still .
We buy ALOT of movies here since we only have 8 channels, we got 2 seasons of spongebob and the spongebob movie and spongebobs to love a pattie lol. Am I right that when the disney dvds come out that they wont come out again? I mean do they only make so many copies of the movies or something? cuz im sure i missed a bunch that came out over the time because i didnt really bother with em until i was pregnant.

they go "in the vault" for 10 years, then they'll release for a limited time again.

cinderella just went in the vault and we missed out on buying it. i was pissed because i specifically asked nick to get it before jan 31 and he asked me on like feb 3 what movie it was that i'd wanted.

i'm still waiting for beauty and the beast to come out again. i think snow white is the next one but it's not until october.

Do you have a movieSTOP near you? It's a store that buys, trades, and sells movies. Since they trade they constantly get disney movies that are in the "vault". That how I got my "Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella" DVD. I couldn't even find it in Disney World. lol. I got the animated Cinderella and The Little Mermaid the day they came out. I learned my lesson. haha.

Yeah, I thought of that too. But, MovieSTOP is CHEEEAP. I've gotten movies from there for like 2 bucks. And they have a big Disney section.

i don't think i've heard of moviestop. we do have a place that sells used dvds though. i should go check it out sometime.

we made the mistake of signing up for the disney movie club. it's like those cd clubs or book clubs, where you have to buy a certain amount and every month you have to decline their selection or else they'll send it and charge you for it. they hooked us by offering 4 movies for $1 or something ridiculous like that. i guess it's actually not bad if you can keep up on declining their selections. we've only missed one and it was "air buddies", which i ended up returning to walmart for store credit. we're just having a hard time fulfilling our obligation of buying 4 movies at full price so we can get out.
