bringing down blood pressure without meds Posted: 02-20-08 21:40pm
I'm not obese, but I've been in better
shape. I'm a 23 year old male in average
health.
Aside from medication, what all can I do
to get it down? I am a smoker, but I'm
cutting back severely in attempt to quit,
and now I'm going to start watching my
sodium intake. I don't drink anything with
caffeine either. I'd like to get it down
to a reasonable level before I go back to
working out regularly again as well.
Any suggestions? What's worked for you?

I know it sounds crazy, but I am also
relatively young and hypertensive, my
blood pressure was around 150/95, started
on drugs and was having a difficult time
due to side effects ( tired, low energy,
etc). Heard about the Zona Plus on radio,
called the company and thought what the
heck, money back if it does not work.
After a couple of months of habitual use,
literally went from 3 drugs to low dose of
1 drug and pressure last weekend at
Walmart of all places was 109/64. I truly
believe this technology if effective. Look
it up, it is well worth avoiding
medication if you can. Best of luck.

Thanks, I'll look into it.
I have another question too. If high blood
pressure stretches and weakens blood
vessels, will these negative effects be
reversed when the blood pressure goes back
down? EG; Will the blood vessels thicken
and regain their lost strength and
elasticity?

I believe your objective is to reduce the
resistance in the vessels, this will
result in less workload on the heart.
Many of the medicines do this, but with
side effects. The machine I mentioned
increases nitric oxide production, an
important mediator in vascular
inflammation. So theoritically yes, it
would reverse the process that is causing
your pressure to be high. But it would
help as you know to quit the smoking and
keep your cholesterol under control, and
as we all know to excercise. You may just
have the genetic makeup that you will need
to keep an eye on this the rest of your
life.

You should first determine that you
actually have sustained hbp, and not just
anxiety-driven labile hypertension. If it
truly is hypertension, the usual
suggestions are good: get wt down to
ideal level, moderate exercise, low salt
if sensitive to salt, etc...and STOP
SMOKING!
Hard Rx to follow ain't it, but it is the
way to go if you are serious. I would use
the drugs only as a very last resort.

Have you tried the DASH Diet? It works
pretty well for many people.

Have you tried any organic supplements? I
know one that works just great and has no
side effects. Also money back if it
doesn't work. Send me a message if you
want to look into it, I think it's worth
it.
