Q: white fungus on tip of tongue

I have a 5 week old baby boy who has been on fomula the last couple of weeks and as of the last 2 days he has this white fungus looking stuff attatched to the tip of is tounge, i thought it was just spit up in his mouth but i cant wipe it off, any idea of what this is? idk if its a cause for concern or not, ill call his ped. tomorrow. Anyone else have this issue?

Certainly sounds like thrush to me!! It is actually a yeast infection that babies get in their mouths. My son is 5 now, so I don't really remember, but I don't think I did anything about it. Maybe antibiotics? I forget - call your pediatrician. But it's not dangerous.

I bet it's thrush. LOTS of babies get it. You should take him to the doctor to get it cleared up. Boiling his nipples and pacifiers can help prevent it from coming back after it is cleared up. If you search google images for thrush you'll find a bunch of extreme cases but I'm sure if you look long enough you'll find something that looks like what your son has.

I hope he gets better!

Thanks girls I was wondering what it was, I'ma look thrush up and call his ped. tomorrow. =)
