My sinuses and I think eustachian tubes have been congested for a couple of months now. I'm quite positive it's congested, but what I'm not sure of is... do congested sinuses or eustachian tubes cause a sort of sleepiness effect?

I don't feel tired, but I feel this weird sleepiness feeling like I have heavy eyes. It's like the kind of feeling I would get if I take a type of medication that causes drowsiness, like an antihistamine or something like that, but I haven't taken any medications.

Another way of explaining I think would be kind of like a "foggy" mind, like I need extra effort to concentrate.

Has anyone else with sinus problems experience this type of symptom?

yes, absolutely! it's awful! Sinus congestion has caused me to want to sleep for 9, 10,... 12 hours even when I didn't really need it. I end up having too much coffee during the day as a result. I try to keep a humidifier (cold) in my room at night and that has helped keep my sinuses more clear and made me feel more alert in the morning and throughout the day. When that didn't work, I would take decongestants (not with an antihistamine), but not too often as they are not good for my blood pressure. What are you doing to cope with these symptoms yourself?

Well, I just went to see an ENT doc, and he stuck a camera up my nose and told me he didn't see anything sinister.. and that it's not sinusitis. Most likely due to recovering from a cold, he says... but I don't know?? I never had a cold, and it's been 3 months.

Anyway, he prescribed me with a corticosteroid nasal spray and told me use a nasal rinse every morning. So far, no improvement, but he said it takes up to 8 weeks to see improvement.
