Hey girl Smile I know it can be very scarry Exclamation but don't worry about what he eats. As long as he is eating at least mostly healthy . He will be ok. I've never been told to eat or not to eat any thing concerning my epy. As for as I know food doesn't affect it. Stress can. So that is what you need to be concerned about. If you are stressing over him having epy, then he will pick up on that and start stressing. Make sure he is taking his meds reg. And you show him how much you care without obsessing over the ep. You and he will do just fine! Smile take care

Food And Epilepsy ?
Sorry I didn't mean to mislead you. I honestly have never heard of that! I'll ask my doc. To see what she says. I have never had any problems with food causing sz's. You said you looked it up on the web? It didn't say which foods may trigger szs? You have me curious now! I'll see what I can find out. I'll let you know, and if you find out ,let me know ok?

My Bf Has Epilepsy
What kind of epileptic seizures does he have? Grand mal, petit mal, jacksonian???? Each has its own triggers and sometimes a person can have a mixture of types. The good thing is he is being treated and will learn more as he begins to live with this. You desire to get information will ultimately help you to relax and feel more confident and less apt to worry about him. You mentioned you live on different islands, hawaiin or caribbean? Your local library will also have tons of information, and the librarian will help you find the most recent and pertinent information. Since some forms of epilepsy have been characterized as a "brain storm", all of the newer neurological medications have much fewer side effects than the older phenobarbital and dilantin.
Keep digging up those internet info gems- good luck, girl!

New Meds
I've been on dilantin for so long and i'm sz free for now. I've tried cthers before with no luck and much worse side affects. With all of my other health issues i'm affraid to switch. Where in ga do you live? I'm in st. Marys, close to jasonville, fl. My husband is retired navy so it helps living close to the base. If they carry it we get our meds free. For me its the rest of the medical bills that hurt! Sad

boyfriend with seizure disorder
My boyfriend also has some kind of seizure disorder (epilepsy?) and I am looking for some advice. He has told me a bit about what to do if he has a seizure, about turning him on his side and trying to get him to take his emergency pill, but until last night I had yet to see him have a seizure. I know that he can have grand mal, but last night he seemed to have a more minor seizure. He seemed to fall asleep, but then he began breathing extremely loud and heavily, his head turned to one side and his whole body began convulsing. He did not remember anything afterward and was very out of it. I did not know what to do, especially since I was driving at the time. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do next time, and what the different protocols are for if he has a minor vs a major seizure? Also, I am worried about him because he does drive back and forth to work, 30 minutes each way. I could also use some overall advice for how to deal with this situation.
