Skin below eye red and inflamed

HI, The skin on my lower eye lid is very red and imflamed - it comes and goes but at the moment - it is quite bad. Its quite embarrassing. It doesn t itch or hurt and looks as thought the imflamation is under the skin. A few years ago i had a problem with some exzema on the upper eyes lids but some cream cleared that up and it has never come back! It looks as though i have been just rubbing the bit above my cheek but directly below my eye! Have you got any ideas on what it could be??? Thanks in advance!
