went into a superfreaky "nesting" stage in your pregnancy? I'm 32 weeks and I am FREAKING out! There is soooooo much to get done and only 8 or so weeks. We haven't even starting painting in the baby's room yet! I'm "not allowed" to paint, but nobody else is doing anything. I've been doing all kinds of stuff to get ready, and I feel like nobody is helping me! I'm just ready to screammmmmmm!!!!!!!!
i was on bedrest during the end of my last pregnancy, so i didn't get to nest. now i'm 33 weeks and it's not really consuming me, but i do want to mop the kitchen every day. some days i'm just struck with the motivation to get stuff done, like 5 loads of laundry or vacuuming every room. i'm hoping to get hit with it big time around the time she's due because i want to come home from the hospital to a clean house.
i'd probably be frustrated if i needed to get stuff ready for the baby too. unfortunately there really isn't anything to do since she'll be sharing a room with my son. i just have some little things, like washing her clothes (i want to wait until right before she's due, because my son will just empty her drawer and throw everything around his room) and getting the swing and bouncer out.
tell your husband or whoever is going to paint that you would feel a lot less stressed if they would just get it done and over with!
Yea, what I've been doing, is....(.most of the stuff that needs done, I can't because it's "too heavy" or "fumey" or whatever) and my husband yells at me when I go near the stuff...so I.....go get the can of paint, open that baby up, (while huffing and puffing and making alot of noise, and put some paint on a paint brush and "pretend" like I'm going to just do it myself and then he's like "what are you doing" and I say "well someone has to do this" and he'll normally take over. If I just ask him to work on it, he get's all huffy with me like "I'm tired!" So I have to trick him into it/guilt him into it. It's a little frustrating to me.
I'm one of those people who just likes to get stuff done and if I have to work for a few days to do it, I will. I work 10 hour days for 4 days a week, come home every night, do dishes, laundry, make supper, and then I try to get something done for the baby, even if it's something small like cleaning out a room or scrubbing something, as long as I am doing something. Then on my day off, I run errands in the morning (groceries, pay bills, etc) and then come home and work on baby stuff all day. Our house is a huge mess since we are trying to remodel abunch of stuff before the baby gets here and I just can't take it!
lol everyone went out for a long walk one day when i was about 30 weeks and i still hadnt painted the room. no one would let me!
but they were all to buisy to do it.
so that day i was in myself i just grabbed the paint and done it within about 2 hours and it was nearly dry by the time they were back lol.
haha....I finished wallpapering our bathroom yesterday. Tonight I will ask my husband to put back the light fixtures, and start on the floor in the bathroom.
I will work on sanding down my glider. I bought a glider online for $20 that just needed recovered and refinished. So I made new cushions for it, and now I just need to sand and stain it.
My baby shower is going to be at my house, and I want it to look nice. It will be the first time most of my family has seen it and I don't want to look like a bum and I want my baby to have a nice house, so we are fixing up a bunch of stuff all at once! (my husband lived in the house before me so it looks like an ugly bachelor pad basically) I wallpapered our living room, bought a couch off my mother-in-law, got a new rug, ohhhh yea and a new dining room table with tax money. (I had an accident last Saturday that goes with the table purchase, which I'll have to start a new topic for because it's just too funny to post here)
well, i think it's happening... i've become obsessed with cleaning. well, not so much cleaning but i'm trying to keep everything picked up. i'm constantly loading and unloading the dishwasher, when before i would just leave it until after dinner. i'm doing laundry even though i only have 1 load and i usually wait until i have 3-4 and do it all in one day. i'm following finn around and picking up after him. i've wiped the counters down a hundred times. hopefully i'll keep this up!
chrissy, what kind of nursery are you going to have?
I'm 31wks and I'm definitely starting. I hate mopping, so I just wiped down the bathroom floor with disinfecting wipes. (My belly is still kinda small, so it's still easy at this point) I think once the house gets spotless (no water=disaster) I'll keep it that way, if not better.

we are painting the walls a buttery yellow, and the floor/trim dark brown, with a Classic Pooh theme. We bought a really cool rug with a bunch of different colors in it, reds, greens, yellows, etc but not bright colors, they are kind of muted. All I have for a crib at the moment is a pack-n-play. And I am drawing pictures of classic pooh to frame and put on the walls, and the glider I'm redoing will be in there. I made a quilt out of light yellow squares and a classic pooh pattern that turned out pretty good. I'll have to take a pic and post it soon of the quilt.
I think we are going to keep him in our room for a few months until I can get used to having him in the house. I don't think I could handle having him in a different room at first. Hopefully I'll get the bassinet I registered for. Otherwise I'll have to go buy one. This summer I'll look around at garage sales for a nice crib, and hopefully find a decent one.
No on the bassinet attachment, and his name will bey Kyle Gavyn. I thought for sure I was having a girl, so I told my husband that I'd pick the girls name and he'd get to pick the boys name (first name that is) and we wound up having a boy so he picked Kyle. I picked Gavyn for the middle name. He said it would be what he'd pick for himself if he got to pick his own name.
