Hello.
I have been having a feeling of my throat closing and it is really starting to scare me. I am not sure if it is caused by anxiety or stress or if it is actually happening, but the feeling is so real.. and it is very difficult eating food. I was sick a few days ago.

Any ideas?
I am getting very scared that it might close at some stage.

Do you have any other symptoms of anxiety? It is important that if you do have a symptom that can be related to anxiety, you rule out actual health causes.

You can feel tight in the throat due to anxiety, but your throat is actually ok if this is the case. Otherwise, you should see if you have food allergies that might be causing this, or some medication that you might be taking could be the cause: there are some that do this. You mentioned that you were sick a few days ago...did you take a medication for it?

If you start finding it difficult to breathe, then it is important that you do see a doctor right away.
