Q: Taking Birth Control Pills Late

i am usually pretty good about being consistent with my birth control but i'm having an off month...

this my fourth month on ortho tri-cyclen lo.

at the beginning of this package, i started a day late because i forgot to fill my prescription. so i took two the day i started.

then, the second week, i forgot a day and took two the next day.

then, i forgot again last night and took two just now.

i've had unprotected sex numerous times this month.

did these mishaps signficantly raise my chances of getting pregnant?

Every time you are late taking a pill, your chances of becoming pregnant increases. It is good that you remembered to take two the next day every time, but it is not too great if this pattern continues. How do you remember to take your pill now? You should try putting it into your routine. For example, always take it with dinner, set an alarm to take it, or take it along with something else you do every night like brushing your teeth. If you can't remember even with that, maybe you should look into a form of birth control where you won't have to remember to take it every day like the nuvaring or an iud.
