my kid got into alcohol today Posted: 02-17-08 17:20pm
We were over at a friends house earlier,
and she was drinking strawberry daquri's,
anyway she sat it down, and we weren't
paying attention, Nathan was over just a
chugging it back. F*$%$%
i hope he didn't consume too much of it.
i am right paranoid now. It was at the
very bottom of the glass with a tonnes of
melted ice, so i hope it was good and
diluted. i left shortly after
that...(like 10 minutes later) and he
feel asleep immediatly. He usually does
in the vehicle, but he is still sleeping.
Should I wake him up?

I'm sure he'll be ok. Isn't he like 2 or
3?
If there was ice at the bottom, it was
prob diluted.
Hell, Robitussin has more alcohol than
what you described!!
Let us know how he does!

the bottom of the glass is usually where
the alcohol settles. i would've called
poison control to see what they suggested.
Call telehealth! They can tell you if he
needs to be brought into the hospital.

he is going to be 3 in April. I don't
think he drank too, too much. I woke him
shortly after my first post, and he was
fine, then he ate like a horse. A waffle,
3 fish sticks, apple sauce, and a cup of
milk. (must have had the drunken
munchies!) lol you know like the ones
where you go out to the br, get loaded,
dance your butt off all night, and go to a
pizza joint and scarf down 6 pizzas?
it has been years since I have done that
My sister is RN...I called her... she said
he'd be fine.

Didn't the person whose drink it was know
how much they had left in that glass?
Then they could have told you something
like, "It was almost empty," or "It was
about half full," etc. That way you could
have seen how much your child drank.
I hope he doesn't feel too sick tomorrow,
poor little guy.

she didn't say anything at all. i think
she felt dumb for leaving her glass at a 3
year olds level.

lol! I guess not. Did you ask her how
long it had been left there, and how much
was in it?
Where did she set it down?
