Well the only guy I have ever dated was my husband.......except for ONE guy and that lasted 2 days. It's actually a really funny story.
I was already seeing my future husband, but since he was a teacher and I was student, it was not considered an reasonable relationship, so we were seeing each other privately.
I worked in a restaurant and this guy that I had known from town for quite a while asked if I wanted to go out that night...I was like me? Really? And he laughed and said, what do you think I'd been waiting around these 5 years for? So I was like OKKKKKKK...sure I'll go out with you. It had been advised to me to go out with several people, not just one person after I graduated, and I used to work with this guy a few years before. It was funny tho because he was over a foot taller than me
My future husband's sister saw me with him and pointed it out to my husband and said, aren't you jealous?? He tried not to act like he cared lol. Actually it was ok with him...he knew I was supposed to try to do out with another person
So he calls up my house and my mom makes him ask her permission first, and then he was allowed to talk to me on the phone. He comes and we drive off. I didn't know what we were doing, so I put on some nice clothes. I did tell him I was already seeing someone else, but he said, oh yeah well he could be the coverup date so everyone would think I was going out with him and not my future husband.
I was like...yeah ok (if I could stand him). So we drove into the city about 30 minutes and just talked about what we've been doing. He'd been out of town for a while in the military and I had just graduated high school, so it was a little funny. It turns out he didn't know what to do with me at all.
We drove around town. We finally stopped at the theater, but the shows were getting out past 11 by then and I had to be home by 11. He didn't even know what was good to watch. Then he said, well we could go walk around the mall..."I'm not your typical kind of guy" I'll walk around the mall and window shop with ya. But we didn't.
I think we must have driven like over half the city and then we just came back. We were early, so he just sat there in the car with me and talked. And he was like, Hey, you wanna hold hand? LOL. Of course, he was joking, but kinda not, but I didn't want to, so we didn't. So then he proceeded to tell me all the bad stuff he did in his past years and it was a total TMI. Stuff you wouldn't tell anyone unless you were starting to get serious. Not on a casual first date.
So that was that.
He invited me to go out to breakfast with him the next day, so I said ok. Turns out he invited 4 other girls to go too, so we literally crammed ourselves like sardines into his tiny car and went the 30 minute drive to the city again. He paid for my meal. Then we drove back, dropped off the others, and went to this stupid hospital grand opening where he just kinda walked around and tried to make me catch up with him I guess. Then we drove out into the country a bit and he took some pictures of me and some horses and then we drove home. That was it lol.
I said no next time he asked me. My future husband had asked his boss if it was ok to date me publicly and he had said yes, so there was no need for the coverup and I was glad because I wasn't really happy going with someone else.
About Christmastime I got a letter from him with the pictures he had taken on our day out. The college secretary helped me make the envelope look like I hadn't opened it and we sent it back to him. I was engaged to be married about a few weeks later.
What a ride
