Q: Still feeling down

My lifes still a mess and i cant seem to get it on the right track i have some understanding friends that try to help my life just go's from one thing to another not getting any better i no they say lifes what you make it etc i have my up days and i have my down days apart from the depression i also have very bad panic attacks where it feels like my airways are closing and its like somethink takes over me bcoz when i come out of them my mind is a blank and that scares me not knowing whats gone on i have seen my gp they put it down to stress can stress give you problems like that? or has anyone else got the same kind of probs going on?

Yes, stress can indeed affect you like that and it is quite common to have both anxiety and depression. I think you may need to go back to your gp and ask for some talking therapy such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which might give you the tools to be able to cope with these panic attacks. It would also be a good idea to try to analyse where these feelings are coming from and what you need to do to be able to put your life back on track. It is good that you have understanding friends but you know, you cannot go through life depending on the kindness of others to get you by. You need to decide you will not be a victim to this illness. You will get better, and you have made a good start by coming on here to discuss your fears.

Hi thanks for the reply you are right i need to sort things out and stand on my own 2 feet my friends cant always be there and i will see my gp and ask for more help thanks
