Yikes! Most medications are not recommended with pregnancy. Do a search and see if you can find a clinic that is fee based. That way you could get some medical advice.

a few ideas
1st check your state and local agencies bc/ u should recieve benefits just for being pregnant. its required in some states
then look for a planned parent hood and make an appointment they usally work on a slidding fee scale
some meds are safer than others thier identified by class a b c d d-meds are the worst bc they are known to cause birthdefects

I was on Lithium and Prozac for several weeks when I did not yet realize I was pregnant.

As soon as I knew I was pregnant, my doctors took me off of the meds and told me we would discuss going back on them after my baby was born.

That was 17 years ago. I'm not sure about any advances in meds since then.

Definitely check to see if there are any benefits that you could take advantage of where you live.

I know that where I live, it's possible to get on Medicaid if you are in a pickle, but that doesn't solve problems. It leads to more problems because there are very, very few doctors who will accept new Medicaid patients. Once you get them on the phone to make an appointment and they find out you are a Medicaid patient, they say they can't take any more because the state doesn't reimburse them properly so they actually lose money with each Medicaid patient they take on.

If you're able to get some help, be sure to follow through with getting treatment for your condition after the baby is born.

Don't make the mistake I did, which was going off of the meds while pregnant and then not going back on them.

It has totally screwed up so many aspects of my life to be unmedicated for several years now.

Good luck!

I had to go off my mood stabilizers, anxiety med, and an antibiotic I was taking. I'm now just on Lexipro and Prozac... and I've had a very hard time emotionally this whole prgnancy (I'm 32 weeks now). I'm glad I'm doing what's better for my baby, but it's soooo hard. I really would advise you to look into state healthcare, it is essential if you're pregnant AND bipolar.

agreed. you MUST find some sort of clinic or something. There are are LOT of programs to assist those without insurance. ...and there is something to help you out there.. my sister was out of it with postpartum with her first and pretty bent out of shape while preggers, so she was prescribed something while she was preggers with her last kid. (She was far better off with some help.) Please visit your local planned parenthood or state run health clinic or call some doctors ad inquire. It never helps to ask and doctors offices will more than likely assist you in your hunt for the right assistance.
