Negative Pregnancy Test advice

Well, first of all, neither my husband nor I were planning on a baby for at least a year (we married in Nov.) so we've been using condoms. However, there have been several "messy" ones and times we started without one (although didn't finish). So, with that in mind; this is my symptoms.

After marrying, I skipped my next period. I shrugged this off because of the stress of a wedding, etc... but I did experience
1. slight spotting several days before my period was due
2. extreme nausea, although I never vomited... but I am known to have an iron stomach.
3. incredible fatigue. I am usually very active but I would wear out with the slightest bit of physical activity.
4. slight weight gain (5-7 lbs. which I wrote off as "post-marriage" weight gain)
5. SO emotional! I am usually fairly steady... no mood swings, etc... but I cried at the drop of a hat.

after another 4 weeks of no period I took a HPT which came up negative.

Then I got a 4 day- light, no cramping- period. I was just relieved that I GOT a period so I failed to think about the fact that my periods usually last 7-8 days and are very heavy and I usually have 2-3 days of hard cramping.

I really started watching my weight after that- since I had gained those 5 lbs (and I tend to lean towards 10-15 lbs OVERWEIGHT already... Confused ) and I didn't gain anything for the next 4 weeks. I actually lost about 2 lbs. But then, I started getting stretch marks on my stomach. (I was SO frustrated by this point! *laughs*) by the end of those 4 weeks my pants stopped fitting right (they fit on but are SO uncomfortable!)
My chest is getting bigger. The area around my nipples darkened. And although I don't have incredible sensitivity... my chest is definitely more sensitive than normal.

I skipped the next period. I took another HPT test, which was negative.

But since all the changes in my body- I went to the doctor. She never touched me. Just told my husband that he should keep me on a diet (I do look chubbier than normal! But I WAS dieting!) and told me to start taking birth control pills.

She did, however, order a blood test. Which came back negative.

That was a week ago. I don't want to take BC pills. I don't like them and my husband doesn't either. Which is why we weren't using them.

I have a friend who got pregnant about 2 weeks after my wedding and we have pretty much identical symptoms; only she's pregnant and I'm not.

Is it possible I am? If I am, I don't want to hurt my baby or anything... but if I'm truly not then I'm really afraid something is wrong (cysts, a tumor... or something.) and if it's none of that... I think I might be going crazy. *laughs*

Any advice?

from what you are describing, it sounds as though if you ARE pregnant, you should be around 8-10wks. I would ask your doctor for an ultrasound. It's more likely to get a false negative than a false positive.

if the blood test came back negative then you probably arent pregnant. The blood test can detect pregnancy way before a home pregnancy test can. but it could have been a mistake. However the home pregnancy tests should have detected some of the HCG hormone by now, considering its been 2-3 months since your period. If you seriously doubt your doctor then I would definitely see another doctor and get a second opinion.

I too missed two periods and tested negative for 2 months before I got a positive. I wish you the best.
