Q: TMJ on one side jaw

I have had it on my right jaw side like forever. When ever I chew something hard it hurts and when I sleep on my left side I can actually hear it moving in and out of place. My right side is a little milder.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks dyan, at least I know I am not the only one in this situation. I too have it on both sides but, my right one is the one that really cracks and hurts a lot of the time. I just find it really hard to chew the really good food in life. Like London Broil (yummy) and hard rolls etc. At least I have not "locked up" yet. Razz

I have that too. I think I have the popping worse on the right than on the left, but it usually isn't painful. I do stick to a softer diet because hey, we all love those carbs, but I guess I do eat my steaks on the more rare side too lol. Rolls are tough for me too. I just have to remember to keep the bites little Razz

My right side is locked, so I haven't experienced any popping or clicking there for over six months. My left side has started clicking a lot more since my failed arthrocentesis caused my right side to lock. I'm hoping I'm not headed for a similar problem on the left side. As far as I know, there is no osteoarthritis there -- unlike my right side -- so maybe there is hope.
