I have been smoking since i was 14 yrs.
old. This has been 37 years. I started out
by taking my dad's cigs in the morning on
my way to school. I would snatch 2 or 3,
give one to by friend and have one for the
walk home. This went on for a while until,
back in those days a teenager could buy a
pack if cigs. So i did. And here we are.
37 years later, i am a 2 a day packer. I
am disgusting to myself. My cloths stink,
my car stinks, i have to paint once a
year. My face is starting to show the
signs of smoking. I have those little
puckery lines around my mouth. I do not
like it.
I looked into a smoking cessation group. I
saw the ad on TV and decided to call. My
first appt. is March 4. And get this!!!!!
THEY PAY ME!!!! 350.00 dollars for the
first set of meetings, the 235.00 for the
last set. They divide the group in two.
Group A gets Chantix, group B gets a
placibo. Then we switch. Have to keep a
journal as well. A side affect from the
chantix is depression, (so they told me)
seems to me i will get depressed anyway
cuz i'm not able to smoke. Well, i could,
but whats the sense of wasting everyones
time? Either quit or don't!! Has any one
here taken any of this therapy? How well
(or not) did it work for you? I really am
quite serious about this, but i will need
a lot of support. My hubby smokes as well.
I need to stay away from him!!!! ( just
kidding)
