So, both babies are rearing the end of their naps. It's bout time for both of their meals!!

So I'm taking these last few mins of freedom to talk about some things! LOL!

Breastfeeding is sooo up & down right now. The second I start to get down about it, she does GREAT! And as soon as I get excited about it, she doesn't do so well.

As much as those bottles mimic the breast, she's been tainted. It really really sucks. Because I know my milk isn't at it potential. She only feeds for about 10 mins on each side... Confused

I'm not giving up though. I'm soo determined for her to at least get SOME of my milk for as LONG as possible!
I think I'm over thinking what results I should be having after only 2 weeks. I don't know...

Well, on another note, her umbilical stump is sooooo close to falling off! It's hanging on by like a strand. It might have even come off already. I'll find out when she wakes up and I changfe her butt!!! yes

Yes, I'm going to keep it. I kept Oni's too. I keep them because that piece of Umbilical cord is the ONLY thing I have left of the PHYSICAL BOND we shared. I wrap it up in kleenex and put it in a plastic bag. I'll have to label them now that I have *2*!!!

Oh, and Thank JESUS for swaddling!!

On the breast feeding thing... stop the bottles altogether. More nursing means more milk. More milk means she'll stay at your breast longer. Having her at the breast longer means more milk supply. It is a circle and it is natures way of making sure we have enough milk to provide our children. A child ONLY ever needs mama's milk. There is no need to supplement with formula at all.

Besides, one of the best benefits of breast feeding is that is is always handy, always sterilized and ALWAY ON TAP!

Man, ever since she was given formula her demand of my breast seems non stop!!
I tried to do that the day she was given the OK. ANd let me tell ya, it was DRAINING. Even with Baron here trying to keep Oni occupied, it was almost impossible.

So what I've been doing is pumping inbetween feedings.

That, right now, seems to be my only option. If I didn't have Oni, I'd have Nya stuck on my boob allll day long if she needed too. I just physically can't do that right now...I'm exausted as it is.

Mreh, I hope this gets better.

Breast feeding is hardest initially. I promise promise it gets so much better, you'll be thanking your lucky stars you held out. Wink

Do you have a sling? They make a gazillion kinds. I know it is hard. I was nursing and working when she was less than a week old (with her in the sling). She got fussy when it was time for me to cook dinner. I'd strap that sling on, whip out a boob and nurse her WHILE I cooked, did dishes, laundry, etc.

You still have to live. But if you are sitting there pumping, you could be breast feeding just the same Smile

It will get better. Just keep it up!! In two months, you'll be soooooo thankful you are breast feeding. No lugging bottles around. No getting up in the middle of the night and fixing heating bottles, no sterilizing water and/or nipples. I'm telling you, breast feeding is the best after you get over the hard part!

here's what's up with the sling I got. It's not the greatest. It's a breathable mesh sling, and she ain't really feeling it.

She's the type of baby that MUST be swaddled when breastfeeding. I've tried sooo many times the skin on skin and it does NOT work. SHe doesn't know what to do with her arms & legs when she's not wrapped tight. I know she'll grow out of this, but MAN.

Ok, so the sling sucks. If I swaddler her BEFORE I put her in the sling, she gets soooo hot. She starts sweating bad.
So I need to find a sling that she can be wrapped up BY and then swaddled. Cuz I reallllly am needing a GOOD sling right about now.

AND I CAN'T FIND THE RECEIPTTTT!!!

You should look into the 'babywearer'. There is tons and tons of advice on slings, pouches, carriers, front packs, etc. Wink

Hey I have a sling that you may like. I was "iffy" on it but it's worth a try. If you don't like it, you can sell it on babywearer. I am on that site as well and you can find some good deals. My sling is from slingling. If you are interested, take your measurements and get back to me your size. I gave one to my babysitter and she just recently gave it back. I think you guys maybe similar in size. If you are, I will send it.

I also know some "granola" mamas on another local forum. They have many slings that they may just give away. I will ask them, too.

Yep... I was physically drained as well having two kids and one on boob at all times. It's tough. I think you have it harder because Oni is younger than nate. My heart goes out to you and I think it's great you are still trying. I feel that three months of our lives was all about nursing. My other child probably didn't get the attention he needed. I was on here reading while nursing...

i had all intension of keeping graces stump but i dont know what happened to it!!! it was on her dresser but it must have been knocked off and now i cant find it!! Sad
