Yes, I think it could be possible
I believe that there is a connection with genetics

I am Bipolar and my 1/2 sister has classic symtoms and my youngest son also has classic symtoms. My question is. How do you feel about this. Do you think there could be a possible connection of genetics in this disorder.
The more I think about it the more possible I think it can be so.

Think hard and see if there is anyone in you family that you might have ignored that could possibly be Bipolar and not know it.

MsCarrie,

I just got on and saw this. There is definite genetic dispostition to bpd. It is, also, closely linked to alcoholism. That is one question that is frequently asked by docs during an evaluation for bpd. So, you are !00% correct.

Genetic Link to Bipolar -- Definitely!
Four siblings out of six - is that proof enough?

Sure is enough. With me it is my mothers side. There are actually three family members. I forgot my 1/2 sister son ( same mother, just different dad). Not sure about my mom, she always looks depressed but yet she has lung cancer, so I guess she has a darn good reason. Both my 1/2 sister and I have the same mother just different dads also. I truly believe it stems from mom's side of the family.
