I have big, horrible, embarrassing stretch marks!Embarassed They're on my upper thighs, all over my bum and even a few on my calves. I am so down about them. Crying or Very sad
I'm a teenager so haven't given birth so the aren't "pregnant stretch marks". I doubt my friends have any, I never see people with them.
I really want rid of them! Any suggestions? What's worked for you?

Cocoa Butter. It may help a little with the marks you already have but it helps alot with preventing them. So use it instead of lotion on your legs or get a cocoa butter lotion (that's what we have). My daughter used to help rub it on my belly when I was pregnant. It was her way of helping! But now I use it on my legs. It also workes very well for dryness. My husband is a mechanic and get very dry hands so he puts it on every night to help.

Stretch marks are actually a hereditary condition. They are scars on the skin from stretching. When the body grows faster than the skin has the ability to grow, you will get stretch marks. A lot of people get them. When I was a teenager, I had a friend whose chest grew so fast, she had what looked like giant red scratches all over her breasts. They were stretch marks, but I didn't know it at the time.

While people will say use lotion, baby oil, or cocoa butter - those things will neither prevent or get rid of stretch marks. Stretch marks will lighten over time, turning more into a silvery skin color instead of dark red/purple color. Lotion won't hurt you, however, and if you feel it helps, then by all means you should use it.

Surprised Thanks guys! I'll try hunt down these products. I've heard about cocoa butter, yes, I'll be getting me some o' that! Castor oil sounds interesting too, then I've researched about people splitting Vitamin E tablets and rubbing the oil in so i tried looking for ingredient w/ Vit. E - seems wheat germ oil contains a lot too.
I hope these things work, I'd hate to be burdened by them my whole life. Do you know how long it takes for them to fade - even naturally without products?

all my friends have stretch marks and so do i! and none of us have given birth. it is normal. and yes they do fade a lot over the years.

when i went on the contraceptive pill i went up 2 or 3 breast sizes and i got stretch marks on my boobs. when i found out one day looking in the mirror i was really upset, but it only took about 2 years for them to fade. i can't even see them now. i have stretch marks on my hips too. they start off being red but then they turn pretty much the same colour as the rest of my skin.

i never used any products on mine. i've heard about cocoa butter helping so you could give that a shot since it's affordable, but as for the expensive treatments such as bio oil, i don't think they would work. i reckon it's just a way of making money :S

I've never had children and I have them on my hips. I can't remember exactly when I got them, but they are so faded now you can barely tell they are there. Genetics deffinately play a part...all of my sisters have them and none of us are overweight.

Heck, I've even got some on my hips. They're very small but I do have them. I am technically underweight and have never had children! So yes, it happens to everyone!

you know what helps conceal them...tanning..or well..tan lotion...i put just a little on all over my body just to get a hint of color(i refer to use the tanning bed) and it really conceals it..just dont get carried away and turn into an oompa loompa...o and be careful w/the hands..always wash them after or your palms will get dark

There is no quick solution to stretch marks unfortunately, life would be wonderful if there was, but I have tried something called bio-oil. This really helps and find it so much better than cocoa butter. They are the life lines of our gorgeous babies, but in time they will fade with a little help.

I had stretch marks on my inner thighs, hips, and breasts. I'm also a lifeguard this summer so I've lost a lot up to 30 pounds so I'm 120 (done through weight watchers just btw Smile) but anywase my uniform is a bikini and so I've been using Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy for 6 months 2 times a day (after i shower in the morning and before bed) and they are basically GONE!!! Very Happy I love my Mederma <3
