I just started Nuvaring about a month ago after three days of nauseousness and ridiculous depression with Yasmin. The convenience of Nuvaring is way better than having to take a pill everyday and I don't get nauseous. Although I have some preexisting anxiety. For months I have taking something called Valerian Root for sleep anxiety which helps me immensely feel refreshed from sleeping...since Nuvaring the Valerian Root stopped working. So without good sleep and potential that Nuvaring is causing more anxiety and paranoia...I am miserable. Some days I'm fine no more anxiety then usual, then other days like today I'm on the verge of loosing it. I can't tell you how many times my eyes have welled up over something so stupid. Additionally, my boyfriend can feel it and it makes my vagina smell mediciny...it's not attractive. I took it out today which is the end of my first cycle and I don't think I'm planning on continuing. Although I am absolutely paranoid to get pregnant I was using it along with condoms as a backup. As my doctor says, I guess everyone will react differently but the thought of being this out of control of my thoughts is a bit crazy.

LadyD- Is it possible that the anxiety isn't related to your birth control? Just a thought. It's quite possible that it is because of the pill but you never want to ignore a problem and blame it on the wrong thing!

Karen- have you tried a low-dose pill?

The anxiety was there before, but the bc is definitely making it worse. I have always been a worrier, something I have to address....lately I've been a complete basket case. It has never been this bad.

Also, if I left it in for the 3 weeks and am now on the 1 week break when I'm suppose to get my period...how long do you think it take for my body to get back to normal as far as the hormones go?

It depends on the person, but the ring is better than other drugs as far as your body regulating once you take it out. Shouldn't take too much more than another week or so after your period.
