Well we rally couldn't bury it because its winter here and the ground is all frozen. So my dh took care of it last night when she was sleeping and we told her that he is gone to fishy heaven.
We're thinking about getting her a new one. We might wait until easter and bring her to the pet store and let her pick on out.
I had golden retriever named Woody, when he was about 3 I gave him to my dad because I was having a hard time (single, pregnant, 17) He was mine and my exes but than my ex left and I couldn't afford to keep him. Anyways this dog became my dad's best friend (it was just him and Woody). One morning at like 5am my dad called me sobbing "Woodster's gone" well omg I freaked. My dad said that he had put him outside around 4am because he wanted to go out which was very unusual and so he kept checking on him. He was just lying there really peacefully and he wouldn't respond to his name so he went up close and it looked like he was sleeping but he was gone. Me and my hubby had to go and pick him up and bring him to the cemetary, my dad couldn't do it.
It was so hard to see my dad ( a grown man) be such a wreck. These animals really do become a huge part of our lives.
Sorry about the long post....I just got carried away
