Self harm hotline call Posted: 02-14-08 00:18am
should I even call at all? im so
nervous... I know it's just getting worse
(the cutting) but I don't know what to
even say... it seems so aquward....(sp) I
just need a little help
Just call! Tell them you are harming
yourself, tell them why, tell them how you
feel. Once you call they will help make it
as easy as possible for you and guide you
through the conversation. They are
professionals and really want you to feel
better.

Just give them a call and they will help
you feel comfortable talking. If you
aren't sure what to say, they'll ask you a
question or prompt you to get back on
track. They'll do their best to make you
feel better about the situation and help
you to look at it in a different light.
As long as you are willing to listen and
get help, then they are 100% willing to
help you the best they can. Good luck and
let us know how it goes!!!

It's completely normal to feel scared and
reluctant to talk about. It's something
that has been a private part of you and
that you have a fear of letting people
know about. If you don't feel comfortable
with a hotline, talking on here (or even
any self injury help chatrooms, perhaps)
is still an excellent step. It may not be
face to face or voice to voice, but it is
still solid support. If you ever need
anyone to talk to, feel free to PM me or
keep on talking in this thread. Me, along
with many other users, are here to support
you the best we can and will not judge you
in any way. Many of us are going through,
or have been through similar things so we
can give you advice and let you know our
stories too.

I always loved having substitutes when I
was in high school. It meant I could not
pay attention usually and do whatever I
felt like during the class period.
