Well, make sure you're not pregnant,
obviously. But if you are considering
using an IUD, don't use Mirena, the
plastic one. That one is hormonal and if
you're breastfeeding that little girl, it
would be a bad idea. I myself have never
used an IUD but I know some about them.
Ask your doctor about a copper IUD,
because they are non-hormonal and are
still 99% effective. These can stay in for
up to 10 years, but can totally be removed
before then (for kiddie #3).
other than that, I would ask the doctor
some more about it, as I won't pretend to
be an expert. Some problems I have heard
about them is that unlike the hormonal
IUD, the copper ones might make your
periods heavier and more painful.
So yeah, best of luck to you!

I do not have children and never want
them.
The copper IUD is wonderful.

I have an IUD and I love it.
Its non-hormonal (its made of copper, and
somehow the copper works as a
contraceptive) so I don't have to worry
about weight gain or other side effects.
Its also easy, because I don't have to
remember to take a pill every day or get a
shot every three months and so on.
The only thing is when I first got it, my
period was super heavy for about 2 months,
now its back to normal though.
Also, it makes my cramps worse.....I have
never had kids but my doctor says they are
like mild contractions. If you can deal
with that, then an IUD would be great for
you. just take some midol and use a
heating pad and that helps the cramps.
Its also very effective, not many people
get pregnant while using it and those who
do usually do not carry to term bc the IUD
interferes with pregnancy somehow.
talk to your gyno about it and see if its
right for you (lol, I sound like a
commercial)
