genital herpes effect on spinal tap results Posted: 02-13-08 16:31pm
I had a spinal tap done for other medical
reasons. I have genital herpes and was
wondering if that might have affected the
results of the tests. The doctor didn't
say anything about the herpes and I can't
seem to find any answers. Help....

i dont think herpes should affect anything
really...other than childbirth. This is
all I know though..if your doctor was
really worried Im sure he would have said
something...

i dont think so....one time i wanted to
donate blood and asked if i could without
passing it and they said that yes I could
donate as long as i didnt have an active
outbreak...so maybe you need to be having
an active outbreak????
im curious though.

I wasn't having at outbreak at the time. I
guess I hadn't thought about it that way
either. I am supposed to going to see a
specialist (MS specialist) at the end of
March. I will post again once I see him
and let you know what he says about it.

The neurologist said that this type of
herpes did not have anything to do with
the spinal tap results. There are so many
forms and several can be indicated by the
results of the tests but not genital
herpes.

WRONG....
I am a womans health nurse, and we have
women come in who tried those 'supposed
cures', and they still have herpes.
