For the past four days I've been experiencing a pretty intense sharp pain coming from my uterus/cervix area (I'm guessing). Sometimes it feels like its shooting from my butt all the way up to god knows where, and it makes me jump if I sit down while experiencing it. It comes on almost like cramps, where I can feel it "moving" and I experience a plateau in pain. But the tightness and pain in the cervix/uterus or whatever is constant now, and when I hit bumps in the car or stand up or whatever it is really bothersome.

I had my period about 9 days ago. I've had no abnormal vaginal discharge, and not very much of anything except after sex. My husband and I have been having sex often lately, but what else is new Wink

Last night when we had sex the pain was pretty bad, leaving me unable to enjoy it. My husband is pretty large and he often hits against my cervix while we're having sex, which has always hurt me. Last night it was like that constantly, and it became unbearable when he went in deeply. This is what makes me think the pain is from my cervix...

Any ideas what this could be? Right now I'm wearing one of those warming patches that help menstrual pain. Anything else that could help?

I might have lower back pain too, but I'm not real sure as right now it just feels like everything hurts really bad.

Also, when I go to pee it hurts too when I begin to empty my bladder. It's not a burning feeling or anything resembling a UTI (and I've had one of those before and I would know if it was that), but the pain is pretty bad. I don't have a fever... in fact my last temp was 97.6.

I tried to touch my cervix, and I think I did but I didn't feel any pain when I touched it. Does this mean it's not that? Could it be appendix pain? When I press down very very low on my abdomen (right above my pelvic bone) it hurts. It seems to be coming from the middle, but it's kinda hard to localize. I'm pretty sure its not coming from an extreme side though... so I guess it's not ovaries or anything like that.

i have hpv (precancerous cells- not warts) the doctor doesn't test for hpv @ a regular checkup, you have to get a papsmear done--> i experienced pain while i had sex. and still do almost every time. you need to get it checked tho...

***It is estimated that up to 80% of sexually active women (and men) will be infected with HPV at some point in their lives.***

IT'S A HIDDEN VIRUS Sad PLEASE GET CHECKED.

Signs and symptoms of health problems caused by HPV:
Genital warts--> usually appear as a small bump or group of bumps in the genital area. They can be small or large, raised or flat, or shaped like a cauliflower. Healthcare providers can usually diagnose warts by looking at the genital area. Warts can appear within weeks or months after sexual contact with an infected partner—even if the infected partner has no signs of genital warts. If left untreated, genital warts might go away, remain unchanged, or increase in size or number. The types of HPV that can cause genital warts are not the same as the types of HPV that can cause cancers.

Cervical cancer--> usually does not cause symptoms until it is quite advanced. For this reason, it is important for women to get regular screening for cervical cancer. Screening tests can find early signs of disease so that problems can be treated early, before they ever turn into cancer.
Other cancers caused by HPV might not have signs or symptoms until they are advanced and hard to treat. Other HPV-associated cancers include some cancers of the vulva, vagina, penis, anus, and oropharynx.

RRP--> is a condition in which warts grow in the throat. RRP can occur in children (juvenile-onset) and adults (adult-onset). These growths can sometimes block the airway, causing a hoarse voice or trouble breathing.

It could be a few things. Your pain being in the middle of your pelvic area doesn't necessarily rule out ovarian problems. A bladder infection that has gotten out of control sounds likely though. Any time you have pain associated with sex, you should see your gynecologist as soon as you can.

Ahh! Wouldn't that cause pain while I was urinating? The pain feels unrelated to my bladder, but somewhere close to it if that makes any sense at all. When I have to pee really bad the pain is more noticeable though. It isn't a burning feeling, I don't have to urinate often, my pee is light colored, and there is no odor.

Anyone else have any ideas? Would the clinic on campus be a good place to go for this? I've never been there before. I don't even know what to tell them hurts. Please help guys.

Yes this could also be a possibility. But like Jude Love says, the symptoms can come from other things. Cervical cancer comes from hpv which is a sexually transmitted disease. So you would know if you were at risk for that type of cancer if were having regular checkups.

Not necessarily. When I had an ovarian cyst, I had a lot of the same symptoms. Definitely go the campus clinic, they can at the very least test you for infection.

Same symptoms
I know you posted this a long time ago, but did you get your symptoms ruled out? Because I have been having the exact same problem for almost 2 years! I am desperate because the doctors give me anything from IBS medicine to depo shots saying that it will relieve the pain. It doesn't.

I find that my pain gets aggravated with excercise, such as jumping running, even when I am in the car if I hit a bump, it feels as if I have dislodged something. I have also found that I have worsened bowel problems with the pain. That is why the doctors thought it was IBS.

RE: FYY: Pelvic pain on right down leg
It could be PNE (pudendal nerve entrapment), which is very common after a c-section and has similar symptoms as yours. Also, there are ileo-inguinal nerves which run along the lower pelvic region where c-section incisions typicaly are made, that become entrapped.

Re: Uterus cervix Pain
I experience the same thing too and have suffered from often pain during sex that will left me buckled over for the next few days afterwords. I do have burning once in awhile that feels like its coming from my cervix/uterus tho. I posted a blog about this the other day because i became very concerned. When i would get this pain, i figured that it was caused from me probably having to go the washroom and while having sex, it was causing everything to push up, causing strain on my body. I realized this week that i doubt very highly this is what its caused from. Infact, a few of the replies i got from my post said that it was a good chance it was Endometriosis. After reading that..i realized that i remember someone in my family saying that they had that. I remember an aunt that had to get a historectomy which i thought was caused from it. So i started doing some research. I read every page i could find on the subject and i couldnt believe how much of the symptoms that i had regarding this. I also spoke with my mom about it and she said that it was her that had it...which leads me even more to think that this is what it could be as it can be hereditary. Endometriosis is extremely easy to go undetected by your doctor and hard to diagnose. many doctors dont know much about it so its really important to see someone who specializes in it.

Pelvic pain
Hi I stumbled on this looking for "more" answers to my pain. I have the EXACT same problem. I have been told I have Endometriosis, but I think they're is something more. I have been dealing with mine for 20+ years. One thing that helps with the pain of intercourse AFTER and the days following is having him wear a condum. I know it sucks but the sperm swiming around in there is whats causing some of your after sex pain. It helped me.

Plz Don't Sleep on Endo
I came on here also looking for answers to ky increasing pelvic area/ lower back pain. I read your reply and regret to inform you that whoever told you its endometriosis is absolutely correct. I was diagnosed in Feb. 05, had a colonoscopy and a laporoscopy. I then had the "major" surgery April '05 only to find that my uterus and a piece of my bowel are connected. You need to ask your doctor for a pelvic ultrasound. It's the only way you can truly be diagnosed and treated. It's hereditary, nothing you can do to prevent it, only treat it.

lanneya or anyone else with severe unsolved problems
I have had all the same problems and i went to a fertility specialist because my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant for about two years. they found that i had cysts on my ovaries then they disappeared with birth control. but i still had pain, they did a laparoscopy to see if i had endometriosis, which i did, but that is the only way to know if you have that disease and it is very difficult to get under control, but as far as i was told it will never completely go away. They had also found that i had a collapsed fallopian tube which will also cause a lot of pain. my only advice would be to ask your ob/gyn about different things like that and see what they suggest. i am going in for a few more surgeries but not sure how they will work but everybody is different. good luck

Same problem
I had my period about 12 days ago, and was fine. Then the other night my fianc©e & I were having sex & he went too deep (this happens occassionally) but it hurt much worse than normal, I auctually had to stop right then. Anyway, the next morning I woke up still in pain. For the last 2 days i've had this intense pain about an inch & a half above my pelvic bone. It kind of comes & goes like a cramp swelling to crippling pain then going to a dull ache. I am auctually doubled over in pain when it's at it's worst. I've had ovarian cysts before, doesn't feel like that or a uti. My job just pulled our insurance so I am taking ANY advice!!

Just in case any future women stumble across this posting, as I did, and are experiencing these pains and really aren't ready to take it to a doctor, or can't, please read about pelvic adhesions. Kittygato, you sound as though you may have something along these lines. It says injury, but also infections of any kind can cause this. Please don't let your doctors keep putting the blame on something as simple as a UTI, especially those of us who have had one and know when it isn't one, make them dig deeper and keep looking for the real cause. Ladies I hope you have all had the chance to have a diagnosis on your problems and are all pain free now.

I have these pains often. Time your ovulation cycle. I've found these pains usually come about 10-14 days after my period. Basically during ovulation. I've researched and found that some women can actually feel themselves ovulate. This has also been my method of birth control cause when I feel the pain I'm very careful. Haven't been pregnant in 9 yrs! Don't recommend it as birth control but could very well be you ovulating. Ask your doctor

pelvic pain
I to had these same pains in my pelvic area it hurt when i moved or sat tha wrong way i had to sleep with a heating pad on my pelvic area. I finally went to the hospital and they told me it was a UTI which i new it wasnt ive has that before but whatever they gave me made it go away. It came back about 2 months later so i went to my local dr. he did a pelvic exam and pushed up on my uterus wall it hurt so bad so i knew he had found the problem he said i had a pelvic inflamatory infection he gave 2 antibiotics and an anti inflamatory medicine. After taking it for a few days i noticed a big diffrence and it hasnt came back since. I hope this helps.
( by the way if you get in a tub of hot water it really helps alot)

Kinda late, but yeah, I had no pain before my kids, but developed pain during sex after the kids. It used to be up to 10xs a month. Sometimes I felt uncomfortable and knew it was not a day to have sex, but sometimes it came with now warning but only during sex. (But my kids are 10/8and 7 now, and have that pain now maybe every 6-8mo..nothing the Dr could help with, my pap came clean, only thing they told me I have HPV). Sex is unbearable when I have the pain, it almost feels like a knife cutting me, then there is spotting sometimes, n sometimes not. Even taking a pain killer did not help. Am sorry, there is nothing I could say helped, but if anything, hope it helps to know that you are not the only one it happens/ed (hope it's past tense now)to.

Painful Intercourse - Tips
Ive had painful intercourse for 15 years and i've finally got some relief most of the time (not all). The following factors helped me feel a lot less discomfort:

-surgery to remove endmetriosis in my uteralsacral ligaments
-lots of foreplay before penetration. it is important that your vagina is aroused and expands and is naturally lubricated
-having a partner with a small to average size penis
-having a partner with an uncircumsized penis (less friction)
-asking my partner not to penetrate too deep

Hope this helps!

cervical pain
I have been getting this pain for a while now and it seems like its every month until about a wee before I start my period, before that I am fine. Sexual intercourse is so painful. I know its my cervix that is in pain because I was able to feel it. I don't have any discharge or burning and itching either. I can not enjoy sex like I want and am used too.I have no clue what it could be, but I am pretty nervous. I have 3 kids, so I hope and pray that it is not any type of cancer.

someonee helpp!
lately after intercourse i get what feels like a stomach ache in what i would assume is my uterus. i never suspected much of it, but i have noticed it a few times afterwards. now i have noticed that i keep getting another kind of pain; something similar to cramps; in about the same area. it feels like cramps, but i know i am not due for my period for another couple weeks. i dont know if i should consider this to be serious or not. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know some of these post are old but I couldn't help but notice that some of them are similar to what ive been going through! Ive been having some really sharp cramp-like feeling on my cervix. I mostly only feel this during intercourse. The pain gets so bad I have to stop. Sometimes I also feel imild aches when I'm just standing up or just laying down. I'm not discharging & I'm not having any burning or itching either.i've had an ovarian cyst before & it almost feels like that's what it is but the only thing that is throwing me off is that I went to the doctors a few days ago they diidn't feel any cyst on my cervix & said I was fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this may be???!!! This is really bugging me & I need to know what it is & what to do! Thank you
