Rash That Looks Like Broken Blood Vessels On My Face Posted: 05-03-04 23:38pm
This a rash that is quite new to me, it's
happened a total of three times over the
last three months.
There are tiny red-purple dots appearing
right under the surface of my skin, mainly
right around my eyes and cheeks. They
look like broken blood vessels - they're
not bumpy or itchy or anything. I can't
feel them at all, in fact - I only know
they're present when I look in the mirror.
At first glance my face just looks
flushed, but upon closer inspection the
redness is caused by these little spots.
The most recent occurance has lasted over
24 hours and is still persisting, though
it has lessened a bit.
My (non-educated) guesses are: food
allergy, fungal reaction (but why only my
face?) or sun-related...But the latter
doesn't seem right as I wasn't exposed
extensively to the sun prior to the most
recent breakout.

This actually sounds more like a skin
condition known as rosacea. Have you
looked into this yet?
