3 month headache with pressure behind eye Posted: 02-12-08 17:34pm
I have had this headache pretty much daily
since the end/fall of 2007.
Im a 24 year old male.
At first this was for the most part seemed
like an average headache, until I started
to get it day in and day out, rather then
every few, always started on the right
side of my head, and at times I get a
drilling/burning,stabbing pain in behind
my right eye (lasts for a split second and
then is gone, totally random, might have 4
in a day, or only one in a week)
Pressure behind my right eye, and in
general right side of my head. While this
is distracting the pressure by itself at
first does not cause pain (as in the day
time but is present if I lean forward etc)
But during mornings, and late at night I
have horrid headaches, bad enough to wake
me from sleep.
Also if I lean or bend forward while
looking down, the pressure builds up.
If I sneeze, it's like Im kicked in the
back of the skull, sending a spike of pain
from the back to the front of my head on
the right side. Coughing like wise does
something similar, as does cough... bowl
movements.
and thats about all I can think of for the
moment.
Oh I have a ringing in my right ear as
well, but I have had that since 2006, and
I believe I got it from the factory I was
working in at the time (quite loud)

Do you find it difficult to breath through
the nose?
Do you have drainage of a thick, yellow or
greenish discharge from the nose or down
the back of the throat?
Are you experiencing sore throat and
coughing?

Do you get these headaches together with
sickness?
Are you experiencing blurred vision,
floating shapes, tunnel vision, or loss of
vision that comes and goes?
Have you noticed that you sleep more than
usual?

Sickness? no, but I have woken from it
feeling nauesa. No vision changes.
Im more fatguied perhaps, hard to tell I
sleep pretty much the same number of hours
I always have.
Ive since gone to my family doctor since I
posted this, he's not sure what to make of
it and had me go to an eye doctor to check
my eyes (which are healthy) after that
he's having me go in for a CT scan of my
head at the end of march/start of april.
Past week they have changed, I don't get
the pressure from leaning forward as much
any more, but still do odd days (at
night), they are moving more back and to
the right of my head. like a dull ache
when I do have them, but it only lasts for
a short while then dulls, then comes back
off and on through out the night.

Are you experiencing drowsiness?
Have you noticed that coughing and
sneezing, exercising or even shouting make
the headaches worse?
Is your headache worse first thing in the
morning and get better during the day?

Nope, no drowsiness.
Coughing sneezing etc does make it worse,
I posted that in the first post
They can be bad early in the morning (4 am
or so) but once im up it gets better, then
when it starts to get late again (7-9pm)
they start to get bad again.

Are you getting the headaches more and
more often?
Do you sometimes experience headache on
the right side like sharp, penetrating or
burning sensation?
Do you get excessive tearing and redness
of the eye on the side of your head
affected by the pain?
