Q: waking up paranoid, sleep paranoia?

I'm 15 years Old, and this month every night I've been waking up in the middle of the night at like 5 in the morning and it's hard getting back to sleep cause i'm really paranoid even if I try to focus my mind on something else bad things always come up in my mind, but when the sun comes up I feel like I'm safe and I laugh and wonder about why I was so paranoid the night before.. what is this?

Sleeping badly because of paranoia
Dear Leanne_andrea,
The same thing has been happening to me lately, I'm 14. I have been having trouble going to sleep for a few weeks now and the thing that works the best for me is keeping the light on and reading or playing solitaire until I feel tired enough to fall asleep instantly. Also doing exercise helps me a lot to fall asleep quickly. Try to get to sleep earlier when the rest of the lights are on in the house. Confront your fears by reminding yourself that is HIGHLY unlikely that something is going to happen and doing simple things like making a quick trip to the bathroom. It may be scary now but it's going to get better (that's what I'm telling myself) Smile
I started being afraid after watching a horror movie and then having nightmares, which made me afraid to go to sleep.

Paranoid and not sleeping
The exact same thing has been happening to me and im 15 but when i wake up its at like 2 and i cant cant get to sleep and when i do i wake up at around 4 or 5 and dont fall alseep until i hear my dad get up for work at 6. Im really paranoid that something bad has happened to my mum and dad, i get soo scared. Its really starting to get to me because its been happening for quite a while now and im always so tired! Do i need help? :S
