What in the heck are you talking about? What do you mean "gout is not covered?" Do you have a reading comprehension problem?
In case you hadn't noticed, this is a gout forum and people come here for help.
As far as the question goes, I am not a doctor, so I would be hesitant to say it was (or was not) gout. 3 years is an awfully long time to go without treatment, so I would say to see your doctor and maybe he/she could give you something to help.
