Q: thump in throat when swallowing

For about two wks now, whenever I swallow there is a thump in my throat. it is not so noticable when eating as when just swallowing excess saliva. This thump seems to come from my adams apple. Is this indicative of something serious.

Can you better describe the "Thump"? I really have no idea what you mean. Is this a sensation felt or heard?

Best I can describe it is like something is binding up. If you were to lightly 'thump' your adams apple w/your finger, thats about the sensation felt when I swallow. Yes I can hear it. Not loudly. Like I wrote, its as if something is binding, or something is not working as usual.

You might want to see an ENT specialist, who can perform a scope, if necessary. Can you make an appointment?

Did you ever get a diagnosis for your condition? My mom is having the same symptoms.
