Suzy- wish you were here - check out the dog

There is a wonderful st benard currently in our backyard, He has a collar; no tags. My adopted rescue dogs are going nuts at the moment. The dog seems well taken care of. Animal control is on their way. I hope they get here soon. I am going nuts from my own dogs. I did give the dog food but s/he ate it up in 3 seconds. This is one of the biggest dogs I have seen. I am certain the owners will find their dog. If not, I am sure the dog will be adopted. My husband is out petting it right now - he loves big dogs. My hubby is 6'6, so you can see a liitle how big the dog is.

EEEEK it's incredibly Cujo! Without the foam

He is really cute and you can tell he's well cared for, because those dogs get really ratty looking if not brushed.

We had a St. Bernard puppy for 6 weeks before he died. They're incredibly sweet dogs and I'm willing to bet if someone's not out there looking for him, they dumped him because they WILL eat you out of house and home.
Mail him my way!

Poor puppy! Have you placed any calls yet to local vets and shelters to let them know he's been found if anyone comes looking? I can just imagine his poor owners going mad with worry!

I'm glad he found his way to your doorstep, Karin!

(Oh, I just read the part where you called Animal Control. Never mind about calling the vets!)

Animal control came to pick him up. The woman told us that three other St Benards have "lost their way" in the past week. In all cases. owners came to claim them. I am not at all worried about this one. It was definitely very slobbery but the nicest dog I have ever met. My goodness.

The timing was perfect. He was heading down the street and stopped on our front yard to eat snow...obviously a little thirsty. My husband was taking Nate to preschool. He and Nate immediately had a liking for each other. It was great. He was headed down the street - not too far from a fairly busy road. I am so glad he is safe.

I was in a car accident years ago and my Greyhound went through the back windshield. I put an ad in the paper and a wonderful family spotted her in the woods, sniffing their dinner, which was venison! Luckily they were making a very potent meal.

They took a look at her and said, that's odd, dogs like that just don't go around alone, so they checked the paper and sure enough they found my ad.

I will be forever grateful for those people.

Suzy did reply before the ban but for some reason it's not here anymore.

The slobbery food and water bowls are still outside. I have to wash them. No...I will make my husband do it.
