Ok, so I have acne that has been getting worse and worse over the past few months. I am on a lot of different medications and I was on lithium when my face started breaking out. I also started smoking about that time too. I thought smoking could be causing it so I stopped for a month while I was still on lithium. Then I read somewhere on the internet that lithium can cause acne so I stopped taking it, after I started smoking again. Right now I have not gotten back on lithium and I still smoke and I still have acne. I was thinking that since I stopped Lithium so suddenly that it could have messed up my lithium levels and thats why I still have acne. My sister told me that nicotine could be holding lithium in my body even after I stopped taking it. I don't know how, but that would explain why my face didn't clear up while I stopped smoking or after I stopped lithium. I'm not sure if what she said is true at all though. If anyone knows anything about this, please help me!!!!!!!!!!! Acne is painful!!!!!!!!!!!
