I will be more honest about this issue then I've ever been.

I judge people who give up on breast feeding as mothers who are a little lazy and selfish. I can't help it, that's how I feel. I drained myself trying to make the breast feeding work for 3 months. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, and I gave my all for an excruciating three months, so when I see people give up with their new borns I just perceive it as taking the easy way out.

That's just my opinion. I try not to think about it and judge people on it, and I don't say anything about it, but that is how I honestly feel.

Okay, this post might get reported, but I really don't care.

Future, step away from the keyboard if all you're going to do is attack this girl. You're acting as though she knew the formula was constipating her son, shrugged it off and kept buying the stuff. She didn't do that. She was hoping to finish the can off (which was almost empty) before asking her mother to shell out more money for a different formula. Have you ever lived paycheck to paycheck? Do you understand the pain of NOT having funds on hand to just go skipping off to the store whenever you feel like it?

Is it ideal? Of course it isn't! But it's the reality of her situation. She was not starving him, and she was not ignoring his pain. She wouldn't have even posted here asking for help if she didn't care or wasn't interested in helping ease his discomfort.

And dude, seriously. Lay off the breastfeeding. For whatever reason, she chose not to do it. Making her feel like poo about it is doing nothing except making her feel like poo. If that was your goal, congratulations on being an awesome person.

If I was a young mother trying to make it on my own, I wouldn't be demanding others to wake up right this second and do this, this, and this for me... especially not go skipping off to the store to spend more money (that they don't have) on formula (which they are not currently out of) which might not even have been the problem to begin with. (Because we're not doctors.) She's scared, she's trying to be independent and strong, and she's doing what she can.

So seriously, just STOP IT. If you can't be supportive without sounding like a jerk, stop clicking her posts.

That wasn't my goa, to make her feel badl. I guess I was thinking of this more as a breast feeding discussion then about a personal post about princess-chick. It is about helping her, and it really isn't the time to bring up my ignorant stereotyping.

Well I don't know why that would get reported? You said what needed to be said with as much class and dignity as is deserved.
Great job

My post wasn't aimed at you at all, Tanya. You were expressing your honest opinion. Future has brought up breastfeeding to this girl in multiple posts after it's been made clear that she is not going to breastfeed.

No, it wasn't. She's not allowed to go upstairs and ask her mother for anything while her step-father is home. It had nothing to do with money.

thanks Smile
That was exactly what i was trying to get across...

I'm trying to do this on my own with as little help as possible.. I get an hour or so break a day so I can shower and eat.. besides that all my attention is focused on Alex (or here when he's sleeping)

Thanks again to the ones actually trying to help and not attacking

That was from the exact link you posted on this thread. Please go back and re-read it. She said at least twice that they could not afford it.

Princess you should call WIC first thing in the morning. They will provide you with vouchers for formula and will even pay for the more expensive kind if it turns out that Alex's stomach can't tolerate the other.

You can try calling 211 to get the number. I don't know if that service is up and running where you are yet, but it certainly is worth a shot. or try 211Michigan.org

My mom was looking around and found the number for WIC.. I have it sitting in front of me right now.. I plan on calling either when I wake up in the morning or after Alex goes to the doctor.
