Q: Porn Problem As Teenager

When I was a teenager, I use to look up underage porn on occasion. I found I was turned on by everything during that age period. In my later teen years, I found it to be repulsive, uninteresting and stopped looking it up. I never went back to it again. I'm 26 now, and I have to say I'm 100% attracted to women, and have absolutely no attraction to young girls whatsoever. Looking back I'm horrified I ever looked at it. I feel really guilty. Is or was there something wrong with me? Was this just a phase I went through? Please I need your feedback.

Dude you have nothing to worry about. Tons of people look at porn. Man I know guys who never outgrew it. There's nothing wrong with you. Trust me.

But this was like child porn, not traditional porn.

Oh child porn? Well it disgusted you later on. When you were young it was most likely just the specticle type thing of it. You've never seen anything like it so it was appealing in a certain way to you.

As you got older you started being repulsed by it so I doubt you have any kind of problem.

It's kind of like how some people watch execusions and caca like that on the net. They don't like it but they can't help but look at it. Eventually the effect wears off on them because it's not so rare to see anymore.

You know what I mean?

Well I don't think it matters since it was just a phase, you never acted on it, and you're over it now. You can't pay for the mistakes/ickyness of your past for forever. It's over and done with; move on!

So? If you were a teen, underaged porn actresses were probably closer to your age than adult ones, so I can understand a relation just from that.

And what are we talking here, like 15 year olds or 10 year olds? I ask only out of curiosity really, as like you said, you're over it. It doesn't matter anymore. I did weird things as a kid too, things that would be considered "wrong". But I was just a kid!!

They may have been underage, but so were you!

I'm not exactly sure whether I ended this phase in my late teens or if it extended slightly into my early 20s. I'm thinking it ended in my late teens from what I recollect. I guess the thing is I've stopped it now and as you say I need to just move on with my life, right?

The important thing is that you, as a grown man, find that sort of stuff repulsive. As Eiri said, you didn't act on it... you learned from it.

Thanks guys for all your help so far. I don't want to beat the subject to death but if this phase slightly entered my 20s would it be a problem? I'm not saying it did but if it did. My memory of when it started to turn me off isn't precise. It may have ended in my late teens but I can't say for sure. I just want to have a clean conscience.

No it wouldn't be because you never acted on it and you're over it. I'd say the same thing to someone who considered murdering people when they were a teen. If they never did it and now realise how bad that is, then it's all good in my book.

Hi guys, me again. I'm still having trouble sorting out in my mind what I did in the past. I feel I'm a sick and evil person for what I did, especially because I was most likely still an adult (19, 20) before I ended the phase. I'm I sick, evil person?? I must have low self-esteem to be worrying so much. Appreciate any feedback.

After all of these nice people have basically told you that your ok. I think that maybe you should seek out some professional help.
Maybe there is some deep seated going on with you that you are unaware of. I will agree with everyone else. As long as you didn't act on it and your not doing it now, move on. Your fine. Something is really bothering you that i think only a professional can help you with. Good luck.
