Hit head - unable to sleep
Posted: 02-09-08 02:48am

About 3 days ago I hit my head pretty good. What had happened is while at worked I attempted to get on to a scissor lift. I put my hands on either side of the latter and put my foot on the 3rd step and with a quick lunge sent myself upwards. What I neglected to do was see the safety rail next to the steps and hit my head on it. I hit my forehead, nose, and lower face all in one go. I hit my face so hard the pores on my face were literally bleeding. My face tingled and kinda of burned at the same time. After a short bit my face felt like normal I took some advil and shrugged it off.

Since all of this I have been unable to sleep. It is currently 2:46AM. Also randomly parts or my body will tense up or hurt. At times my lower jaw also tingles.

Is this soemthing normally associated with getting hit in the head? How long can I expect these things to keep happening? Aside from going to the doctors is there anything I can do to help myself? What other things are possible from hitting your head?

You may just have insomnia from the worrying that something may be wrong, whether you think that or not. Your jaw may hurt from a pinched nerve from it, or from a bad tooth. You could have pinched a nerve in your neck from the compression. Try a chiropractor. If not, go for some icy hot on your neck (from base of your skull to your shoulders) and rub on either side of your spine, NEVER directly on your spine.
