Q: Cervical infection treatment
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 8th, 2008
How long does it take to get over a cervical infection? I just found out about this at my 6 week follow-up. I had a total hysterectomy with salpingo- and oophorectomy.

Hysterectomy Answer A3644
Given the antibiotic you were prescribed (cloxacillen), it seems that your cervical infection is probably caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus requires a 2 weeks course of treatment, at the least.
