Q: I Need Info And Advice

Hi, I have a 7 year old daughter from a previouse marriage, with who I had preterm labor and bedrest for 5 months. My new husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over a year, we have had 2 miscarriages so far, one at 13 weeks and then one 7 months later at 5 weeks. These have been devistating for all of us. I am still trying but wonder if clomid or whatever is right for me? I hate going to the docters and I hate taking anything (drugs) what I would like to know is what this drug does to you, such as weight gain, sickness or possible side effects to the baby?Also is there a chance for multiple births? I am 35 and a little nervous about having more than one baby. But I really want to have a baby with my new husband and give my beautiful daughter a little sister or brother. Any comments or experiences would be most welcome.

I have been on clomid for over a year now. I did notice some weight gain but not sure that it is due to the clomid. I have also notice that I am more emotional and have mood swings/depression, but don't know if it is the clomid or thought that I have not become pg. There could be lots of factors. The clomid alone did not work, but I was referred to infertility doctor and I am currently (last 4 months) on clomid and metformin. It is working!! Me ovulating finally!! But still have not gotten pg. Not even with the fact that they are washing my hubby's sperm to make it more active and that they are inserting it themselves (far in) which is called iui. I am producing 3 follicals (eggs) but none are fertilizing. I go in the beginning of next month for another iui. Wish me luck!!!

Oh Sounds Scary!!

Thanks nm your info was interesting, but it sounds so involved! I dont know if I could handle all of that. You must be very brave! I do want a baby so bad but I really have anxiety issues and I wonder if I could do all that. Please let me know if it works for you, I will cross my fingers!

2 clomid doesn�t cause sickness or affect the faetus in your age induction of ovulation could be done by injections which are more effective as the number of follicles will be more , then hormonal support should be started in the premplantation period and continue through the first trimester of pregnancy .

It doesn't sound like getting pregnant is your problem, it's keeping the pregnancy. You should see a gynecologist or fertility specialist so they can figure out why you are having the miscarriages. Sometimes it is a problem that they can fix or work on. I'm sure you would hate to keep getting pregnant and experiencing the loss of a miscarriage. Maybe the lining of your uterus isn't getting thick enough, or your cervic is week. Both of these problem can be worked on.

I'm Pregnant Again!!!

I hope the third time is really a charm! After 2 miscarraiges in one year, I find myself 5 weeks pregnant again, I am so scared and hesitant to even entertain the thought of actually having a baby! After the positive home test I called the docter right away and had a blood test, hcg and progesterone level test and an ultrasound. My uterus lining is very thick and my tests came back with good results! One week later I had another test (same ones) and my numbers had gone from 500 to 3000 they say this is good. Feb 25th I go in to have an ultrasound and to hopefully see a heartbeat! I am so anxious, if there is nothing in there I dont know what I will do, I can not go thru this again. Please pray for me. Thanks to all for replying to my letters, it really means alot to me to have support from you all!

Miscarraiges

You need to have your ob check your thyroid hormone levels. I recently found out that this is my problem. It can cause early miscarraiges such as yours and is very treatable. Even if your tests come out normal, the next time you get pregnant have your doctor test your female hormone levels, a low level of several hormones can cause repeate miscarraiges. Good luck.
