"abortion is war on women, cleverly disguiesd as promotion fo their rights. The truth is that abortin is never neccessary, and has devastating physical and mental effects on mothers."
"as obstetetricians and gynecologists, we affirm that there is no medical circumstances justifying direct abortion, that is circumstances in which the life of the mother may only be saved by directly terminating the life of her unborn child"

wher abortion is not an option, for example in ireland doctors must channel their skills and energies into saving lives rather than resorting to the "bad" medicine of abortion. Proof that this situation is more beneficial to both mother and child can be seen in the united nations report(1993) stating "ireland is the safest place in the world for a mother to have a baby"
modern medicine
ectopic pregnancy is where a pregnancy remains in the fallopian tube. It is extremely rare in nature. The removal of an ectopic pregancy is not in the abortion debate and has never been considered as such. Modern medicine has allowed doctors to take the baby from the fallopian tube and succesfully place it in the womb
pre-eclamptic toxemia is high blood presure with general swelling which may lead to fits. This condition is now completely managable. It generally occures in the second half of pregnancy. When severe, an early delievery will be induced which will save the life of both the mother and her child.
In modern medicine, mothers do not die. Mothers are at risk only if they attened "pro choice" doctors. High blood presure, kidney and heart diseases respond to treatment. To suggest as "pro choice" doctors do abortion for high blood presure is like cutting of a foot for an ingrown toe nail.
Heart disease.
The incidence of heart disease in pregnancy is extreamly low. In the largest maternity hospital in europe (holles st hospital in dublin) there were 558 cases of heart condition (both mild and severe) to 159,680 births between 1969 and 1990 abortion would not have benefited any of these mothers.
Numerous reports of heart surgery durring pregnancy include succesful correction of most types of congenital and acuired cardiac disease. Maternal mortality is dependant on the specific nature of the procedure being performed and is not increased in pregnancy. Succesfull pregnancy following heart transplantation has also been reported.
