Glad to read about so many people with the same problem. It's very hard to explain to some else what it is like. I have been having eye shakes since about 12 and was diagnosed with epilepsy at 24. My seizures are usually triggered by a lack of Vitamin D. (Without Vitamin D you can't absorb Calcium and which actually causes the seizure.) The eye shakes are usually an indicator that my Vitamin D is low and I double my dose of supplements or else I will have a seizure.

You are all not alone!
Hey there. I also get strange side to side shaky vision. When I close my eyes, it feels like I am spinning. I actually just had one of these strange occurrences and felt like I should look it up and see what it was. Before I came on here my girlfriend had toold me that they could be a very minor form of a seizure. Thats what I found out and my little sister has a more major form of epilepsy. I was just telling my story so that all you guys would understand that you are not the only ones.

Eye Shakes equivalent to Eye Sex...

I am having this feeling when I was 7 years old and I am 26 now. Its ocasional only. at the age of 23 I found my eyes with floaters. I am living with all of them. Life is too short to worry about these things. To tell you the truth I have started seeing Brail Scripts, and have started learning music if incase I go blind. I am not scaring you but its my way. I donot see any harm in learning things. have fun always...By the way I feel like its due to higher desire of sex in me...If you feel sex as natural thing and donot think my queries as absurd, could you please tell me if you feel the same??Do you think your desire for this particular basic need is higher than others for you to try to suppress it?

I am a biomolecular scientist in the UK infact. I am gathering information about problems like this. I want to crack down these clues and get some cure for surreres like me.

bear with me and help me.

cheers!

spinning eyes
Hey,
Finally some other people with my problem.
Im 19 years old and this has been happening to me for 2 years. Its terrible it hurts alot when it happens, it only happens either when im on the computer, watching tv, or just staying at one place. Thank god it hasnt happened while i was driving or riding my bike or something. It gives me such a bad headache right after, i feel like im going to puke, and say if i was watching tv or working on the computer i wont be able to do those things for a couple of hours or until i felt normal again. Hopefully we find a solution. i will try to take more vitamins aswell and see how that works.

Finally... Some Relief...
I'm so glad to have finally found a group of people who knows what I'm going through. I've been experiencing "shakey eyes" since I was about 12 or 13. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in an argument with my mother and all of a sudden the whole room started shaking back and forth very violently and it quickly made me nauseous. It seems that no matter which way I turned my head or how tight I shut my eyes the shaking wouldn't go away. While I've never had another one that was that severe I do still experience them about once every other month. I've learned that by jerking my head back and to the right makes the shaking stop for a while and if I can I'll looks straight up which seems to make the shaking stop until the "episode" subsides. Once I was fortunate to have my wife by me when I started experiencing one of these. Instead of trying to make it go away I actually just "rode it out" while I had her study my eyes closely. She said that she never even saw them twitch which leads me to believe that this isn't Nystagmus. I'm going to get myself on some vitamins and hopefully this will go away. I unfortunately don't have the luxury of healthcare and can't afford to go to a neurologist. Sad

Just a little background info for anyone keeping track. I'm a 24 year old Caucasian Male. Distant history of seizures on maternal side. Parkinson's on paternal side. Half pack a day smoker, casual drinker. History of bi-polar disorder. Not currently on any medications and no drugs other than the occasional OTC for sniffles and headaches...

I've also noticed that this usually happens to me in very low light environments and ESPECIALLY when there is a device (TV, computer, projector) that has a highly contrasting and intense light level...
