Others claim that marijuana is a gateway drug that will lead to abuse of narcotics and want to see the substance criminalized. The opponents of the medical use of marijuana state that the risks of medical marijuana include drug addiction, cancer, brain damage, decreased reproductive ability, and possible death.

its not a gateway drug into anything, its up to you solely whether or not your doing any other drugs, marijuana is not addicting, its mentally addicting of course to those certain types of people, ( of which the doctors would determine if someone should get the card) I personally have never heard of people getting cancer from smoking marijuana, but of course now days everything could give you cancer. I have never seen or heard of anyone getting brain damage from smoking marijuana, and by decreased reproductive ability, I believe they mean reduced sperm count (You'll still have sperm! lol). No one has died solely from marijuana come on!. haha thats just my opinion though
