Had blood in my stool back in late November, went and had it checked out and had a polyp removed a few days from Christmas. Hadn't had any problems until this week.

Started bleeding again this week from the rectum. Blood on the toilet paper is bright red, which is similar to the same thing I had prior to the surgery. It's been getting more frequent as the week's gone on, usually only a small amount of blood involved.

As I'm defecating, there's a feeling like a small cut or tear or something which causes a little bit of pain, but it doesn't feel any different from the pain of taking a large bowel movement.

Not sure what to do. Is this normal? There really wasn't a problem before, and the polyp wasn't anything crazy, but I hate to go through all the trouble of scheduling another doctors appointment to be told that it's nothing or normal or etc.

Have you experienced changed bowel movements at the same time with bleeding and pain?
