Q: VCF Vaginal Contraceptive Film

Hi, I wanted to get peoples' opinion on this product. I am already on birth control but am looking for a secondary protectoin method other then condoms. Also, I was specifically interested in if this product creates a bad taste or foul odor. I have read that the foam can taste and smell bad but have found nothing about VCF. Therefore, any opinions on this product would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Extremely eHealthy

VCF is a great second method, but it does tend to have a very foul odor and taste.

Another option is the Today Sponge, it is a spermicidal sponge that also soaks up the sperm.

The today sponge is effective IMMEDIATELY, no waiting 20 minutes like VCF.

ALSO, you could have oral sex play, and then when you are ready you could just stick a sponge inside of you.

When I was on antibiotics, I used a spermicide along with my birth control. I liked it because it kind of just felt like extra lube. It didn't have a foul odor. I'm not sure about the taste, though.

I use VCF. It does not have a foul odor at all. The taste, I couldn't tell ya...but I haven't had any complaints... Smile

I used to use VCF before taking bc pills. it compelled me to start proper bc because it altered the comfort of intercourse as it changed the texture of juices to a more goopy strange feel. They also do not taste good, to me they smell and taste like some sort of glue.

using the Sponge during, before any oral?

what about having the "sponge" in...can a taste be detected during Oral Sex? That would be quite embarassing..I have not used the sponge before and really don't want to have to STOP anything to go put something in. Ughh
