Liver Cancer Answer A3636
Hepatitis C damages the liver. The level of liver damage can be evaluated according to biochemical parameters such as AST, ALT, and bilirubin measurements. One part of the total bilirubin, for example called conjugated bilirubin is eliminated through the urine and gives it a dark color when it is elevated. Bilirubin also precipitates in the skin causing jaundice. Virus replication can be also evaluated according to its DNA presence in the blood.
You can consult an infectologist further about this condition and to request the necessary diagnostic exams.
