Q: Pain behind eye

So I have this problem. Whenever I rub my right eye I get a sharp pain behind it that kind of goes in a straight line from behind my eye up my forhead. Sometimes the pain only happens when I am rubbing my eye and then goes away. Other times when I rub my eye, the pain begins and lasts for several minutes after I am done rubbing my eye. Sometimes I feel it when I cough or strain as well. It's mostly just when I rub it though. Also, in the same eye I have several little grey floaters and when I look at things that are bright and white I can see these thick lines going across my vision. It looks almost like these big veins or something. Help me out here. Thanks.

When this pain started for the first time?
Most spots and floaters in the eye are harmless and merely annoying.

Is this pain stabbing and intense, feeling like electric shocks, burning or prickling sensation?
Have you noticed that these attacks of pain increased in frequency or severity over the last months?
Do you suffer from some kind of headache?
