Q: Was I at risk ?

Hi all.

A few months ago I have posted something about my recent concern and because the answers were so confusing to me I am posting it again in order to get an accurate answer. Thanks a lot.

Hi, people.

I know here is the right place to ask any concerns about hiv. I have a problem. I am scared of what happened today. I stopped on a gas station to pump my tyres and while looking for some sharp stick I touched a syringe. I didn't touch the needle, neither I pricked myself. I just touched the outside part of the syringe. The reason I am scared is because I have a knife cuts on some of my fingers and I am afraid that these small cuts came in touch with the syringe.
Was I at risk for hiv and should I get tested?

Thanks.

Hiv is very fragile and not likely to pose any threat unless you were actually injected with an infected needle.

I would not get tested but if you are going to continue worrying like this, then do get tested as you will never put this behind you otherwise.

shonster is correct but if it will make you feel better and put your mind at ease get tested...it couldn't hurt and it might make you feel a little better about this. But like shonster stated , HIV is very fragile and not likely to pose any threat unless you were actually injected with an infected needle.
