Troubled and Abusive Relationships Forum - My son needs a father ...

Hi,
I am an 19 year old mother of one beautiful boy and I am in a relationship that SUCKS.
My boyfriend constantly calls me a fat lazy slob when I don't do everything he says right when he says it.He treats me like a maid,he gets home from work and sits down and expects me to serve him everything.
There are times when I get so stressed out that I just want to rid all my hair out.
I feel like I can't leave though,my son needs a father,and I am still working on my schooling so if I was to leave him I would be stuck working a crappy job,doing night school and would barely see my son.
I am so lost in what to do!

You should not be in this relationship. If you stay, you at least deserve to be treated with WAY more respect. It is unacceptable to be called those things and treated that way. He can still be in your son's life without you staying with him. It would be hard to work and do school, but it can be done. Can you take online courses? Could you work at a daycare where you could bring your son and see him more?

You need to get out. Yes your son needs a father, but he also needs a *good* role model. That man doesn't deserve the title 'Daddy'.

I realized when I was married that I didn't want my kids learning my ex's ways of treating women. You have to ask yourself that question " do I want my son to learn how to treat women, by the man I am married to? I think that's an easy answer. That's what did it for me. You may want to ask him though about some therapy. Maybe if I would have told my ex I was leaving unless he got some hlep, maybe things would have been different.
