Since my son was born...

He could hold his head up for long periods of time and when I put him to sleep on his back... I find that when I check on him he is on his side. He has done this from the 2nd da of his life until now! Is this normal? My son was born Jan 9th, hes strong no doubt but my Dr. keeps telling me to place him on his back when he sleeps, I do but his flips himself onto his side, idk what to do, anyone have similar exp? Should I worry he is not on his back when sleeping?

i did write a response, but its gone, so ill do it again lol
william had the same problem. he used to roll onto his front while he was asleep as a newborn and the health visitor used to tell me to keep putting him on his back. but whenever i did that, he'd return to his front five minutes later. i dont think it's a serious problem as long as you keep an eye on it. you can always keep putting him on his back, but if he keeps moving to his side, there's not much you can really do about it

Maybe thats where he is most comfortable.

grace will only fall asleep on her side but she eventually rolls onto her back.

Are you wrapping him with his arms in when he sleeps? I'm assuming it would be bit harder for him to roll onto his side if his arms are tucked in.

I roll him up like a burrito when I put him down to sleep on his back. I don't swaddle him to tightly but fairly snug.

maybe you might have to swaddle him a little tighter if its concerning you about him being on his side. Confused

He's probably more comfortable on his side. I would just let it be. Babies will sleep how they want to sleep, no matter how many times you put them on their backs. Just make sure there isn't anything soft in his crib (blanket, pillow, stuffed animal, etc.).

kristen sleeps on her tummy. she will NOT sleep on her back. honestly they say "not to" let them sleep on tier tummy but 15 years ago that was the normal thing to do. the rules change alot. you have to find something that works and stick with it.
kristen is a little over 2 months and she can hold her head up compltley by herself with no help at all.
