How about we all list out various medical conditions?

Who wants to go first?

I wear glasses. That's it. I am a perfectly sane, healthy individual. I'm not allergic to anything, and I don't take meds aside from birth control - and being fertile is not a "medical condition", lol!

Thanks for going first, Eiri!

I have myopia, presbyopia, astigmatism and glaucoma; I wear contact lenses; I am allergic to penicillin; I take asthma meds but it is controlled and I have some musculo-skeletal problems. And that's it ... I think!

I have a keen interest in medicine and, had I been any good at science subjects, I would have liked to have been a physician - or maybe a vet!

Cassie K that sounds awful! I do hope you are rehomed soon. I live in a damp country and it seems to affect people's general health - we have high rates of arthritis and lung disease here. It never stops raining!

Well................ Turning the big 50 wasn't pretty. Besides gravity being mean to me, i have... TMJ right side, constant ear aches with headaches, stiff neck which is more on the left side with everything else. Asthma which is environmentally related. If i got rid of the cat i would feel better. Allergies to dust and dirt, lo and behold i work in a construction office. If i quit my job i would feel better!!! Absolutly no sex drive. Trick knee due to a car accident which makes it so i can't really run or play volley ball or run with the grand kids. Cramps in my calves. Cramps in my toes, so bad sometimes they look like their going the other way. This is related to smoking. Which by the way i will be attending a smoking cessation group starting in March. They will start me on Chantix to help me quit. Hmmm... I don't know, i'm sure there is other stuff that is breaking, maybe i don't want to think about it.

Okay, Eiri, quit bragging. You're young. Wait until you age a little and then get back to us. lol

I don't know where to start naming my maladies. I am officially old now and I am fighting a losing battle against nature. The most serious is degenerative disc disease in my lower back, triggered by a war wound and caused me to go on disability and retire early. I also wear glasses, have a bad knee, two bad shoulders and feel pain every minute of every day. And, I have to walk with a cane a lot now.

Other than that, I'm good.

Major -

Untreated osgood schlatters as a child caused in both knees:

Bilatteral patella alta (Knee cap is too high up...giving rise to trick knees)
Patella Femoral Pain syndrom (Chondromalatia...very painfull climbing stairs & lifting heavy things)
Osteoarthritis (Degeneration of knee cap & cartlidge)

Minor -

I wear glasses (near sighted)
Have orthopedic inserts in my shoes (flat feet)
Had braces when I was a kid (Crowded teeth)
Spasmism in left shoulder & right side of neck (Partially due to bad posture braught on by trick knees & flat feet...partially due to whiplash thanks to a speeding motor-bike cop)

Mental -

Bipolar Disorder & mild Borderline Personality Disorder:
Depression, Mania, Anxiety, Suicidal thaughts

Hmmm...maybe we should start a forum to discuss the plus sides of our afflictions?
